SMP Silicon Modified Polyester Colour Coated Sheet is a metal baked colour coated sheet made by using SMP Silicon Modified Resin Ester Coatings coated on a metal sheet and then baked at high temperature.
The coating film has good hardness, abrasion resistance and heat resistance, as well as good outdoor durability and non-chalking properties, but has limited flexibility and is not suitable for multiple moulding applications.
Traditional silicone-modified polyester is modified using silicone resin and polyester resin cold splicing, outdoor weathering life of 10-12 years.
Using silicone monomer to modify polyester resin directly, the outdoor weathering performance is greatly improved, and can reach more than 20 years.
When the silicone content accounts for 30% of the resin content, the outdoor weathering life can be increased to about 25 years, close to the weathering performance of PVDF fluorocarbon colour coated panels, but the price is cheaper than PVDF fluorocarbon, the industry is usually referred to as "20 years of silicone colour coated panels", "super silicone colour coated panels" and so on. The industry usually calls it "20 years silicon change colour coated board", "super silicon change colour coated board" and so on.
Scope of application
Due to its good light retention, chalking resistance, scratch resistance SMP silicone-modified polyester colour coated sheet is mainly used in windy and sandy areas and mines, steel mills and other fields. However, due to the silicon modified polyester adhesion and processing performance is not ideal, so it is not suitable for multiple moulding processing occasions.
The improved "Super Silicone Modified Colour Coated Sheet" has replaced PVDF fluorocarbon colour coated sheet in many applications due to its extraordinary weather resistance and high cost performance.
