0.50*182mm Galvanized Steel Strip Gi Tape Gp Slit Coil for Galvanised Pipes
Standard Export Seaworthy Package
There are three main parts to a slitter: the uncoiler, slitter arbors/rotary knives, and a recoiler.
Uncoiler: The master coil is loaded onto the uncoiler at the entry of the machine. Then the uncoiler uses an expandable mandrel to grip the master coil on its inside diameter. The coil rotates off the mandrel, and the head of the coil is threaded into the machine’s edge guides.
Slitter: The material is fed length-wise into the slitter head, which consists of two parallel arbors. These parallel arbors are mounted with a customized set of rotary slitting knives and rubber stripper rings. Rubber rings help pull the material through the slitter arbors, while the knives penetrate the steel causing the material to break or fracture.
The key to running an efficient precision coil slitting job is in the setup. Alliance Steel uses precision tooling and knives to ensure the best slit edges and a computer-automated system to assure spacing and horizontal knife clearances.
Rule of thumb: the harder the material, the less the slitting knives must penetrate. The softer the material, the deeper the knives need to go before the material slits/breaks.
Recoiler: The recoiler’s primary purpose is to wrap the slit coils back into a coil form for packaging and shipment.
Precision coil steel slitting, often referred to as rolled steel slitting, is a process by which wide coils of metal are fed lengthwise through a slitter and cut into narrower coils. As the coils runs through the slitter, extremely sharp circular blades – one upper, and one lower – make the cuts. These are commonly called knives and can be moved to make sheet metal strips of differing widths.
There are three main parts to a steel slitting machine, an uncoiler, the slitter and a recoiler. The key to optimizing the quality of the steel slitting process is in the setup. Insuring all elements are exactly aligned, cutter spacing and knife clearance are set correctly, quality tooling and sharp knives are being used and uncoil and recoil tension are all critical.
With 20+ years of experience, our operators understand the criticality of setup, proper tool usage and machine maintenance.
Precision coil steel slitting is a process by which wide coils of steel are fed through a slitter and cut into narrow strips of material. Each of these cut strips is known as a strand, and is then recoiled to create width narrow slit coil.
Our range of slitting capabilities puts our customers at ease, as they know that we have the right equipment to quickly process their orders. Our customers appreciate our high level of precision in the slitting process, as it spares them from having to deal with excess material waste in their own manufacturing process.
