Colour coated coil is a versatile product made from substrates like hot-dip galvanized sheet, hot-dip aluminium zinc plated sheet, and electro-galvanized sheet. The manufacturing process involves pre-treatment, including chemical degreasing and chemical conversion treatment, followed by coating one or several layers of organic paint. This paint is then baked and cured to achieve a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish. These coils are named colour coated coils due to the various colours of organic paint applied.
Using hot-dip galvanized steel strip as the substrate for colour coated steel strip provides a dual layer of protection. Besides the zinc layer, the organic coating adds an extra shield, enhancing rust prevention and extending the steel strip's service life by about 1.5 times compared to regular galvanized strips.

Colour coated steel coils come in two primary varieties: galvanized color coated steel coil and Aluzinc (aluminium-zinc) color coated steel coil. Both types offer unique advantages and are suited to different applications based on their properties.
Galvanized Color Coated Steel Coil
Description:
Galvanized color coated steel coil is produced by applying a layer of organic paint over hot-dip galvanized steel. The galvanized layer consists of a thin coating of zinc, which provides excellent corrosion resistance.
Advantages:

Aluzinc Color Coated Steel Coil
Description:
Aluzinc color coated steel coil is made by coating a steel substrate with an aluminium-zinc alloy, followed by an organic paint layer. The Aluzinc coating typically consists of 55% aluminium, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon.
Advantages:
1. Superior Corrosion Resistance: The aluminium content in the coating provides enhanced corrosion resistance, especially in harsh environments.
2. Heat Resistance: Better performance in high-temperature conditions due to the aluminium component.
3. Longer Service Life: The combined protective properties of aluminium and zinc result in a longer lifespan compared to regular galvanized steel.
4. Enhanced Reflectivity: The aluminium-zinc coating provides excellent reflectivity, making it suitable for roofing and siding applications where heat reflection is beneficial.
Disadvantages:
1. Higher Cost: Aluzinc coated steel is typically more expensive than galvanized steel, which may be a consideration for budget-sensitive projects.
2. Limited Color Variety: While it offers good aesthetics, the range of available colors and finishes may be more limited compared to galvanized color coated steel.
