Tin coated coil plate used for Oil Tin Can manufacturing ETP JIS G3303 EN10202
1. Introduction
• What is tinplate?
• Tinned steel sheet referred to as tinplate, commonly known as tinplate, is a product made of tinning on a thin mild steel plate. The tin plate produced by the hot dip process is called the hot dip tin plate, and the tin plate produced by the electroplating process is called the electroplated tin plate.
• Because about 98~99.8% of the weight of the tin plate is steel, it is a coated steel variety that belongs to metallurgical products.
Tinned substrate steel is mostly low carbon mild steel, the carbon content is generally 0.03% ~ 0.13%. Before the development of continuous casting technology, mostly casting boiling steel and gland steel were used. Although these steels have good surface quality and can be rolled to tin-coated substrates, they cannot be used as tin-coated substrates with high forming properties due to the existence of component segregation during the casting and solidification of the ingot and the great difference in mechanical properties in the rolling direction and width direction. Since the rapid development of continuous casting technology in the 1970s, the continuous casting slab is suitable for improving the shape quality and forming stability of the tin plate because of its uniform chemical composition, small segregation and small fluctuation in mechanical properties. At present, the steel used in tinplate has basically been continuously cast.
We are professional tinplate sheet coil manufacturer, located in Shandong province. We produce a line of tinplate sheet that is compliant with GB/T 2520-2000, JIS G3303-2002 and DIN EN 10203-1991 standards. Currently, our tinplate is extensively used for packaging food, beverages, paint, oil, aerosols, and other everyday items. It is also used for bottle caps, auto parts, and batteries.
• The characteristics of the tin plate are largely determined by the characteristics of the tin.
• Tin is a silver-white metal with a light blue color, atomic weight 118.7, specific gravity 7.28, melting point 2320C in the atmosphere does not change color, chemical properties are also very stable. The tin plate can keep the metallic luster of the tin for a long time.
• Tin is a soft metal, so when tin plates are processed to make cans, the tin layer will not crack and fall off.
• Tin compounds are non-toxic, and when a small amount of tin is dissolved in food, it has no adverse effects on the color, taste, nutritional value of food and human health.
• Tin has good brazing properties, so the steel plate is easy to solder after tin plating, and it is easy to process when tin plates are used to make cans and other containers.
• The shape of the tin plate is smooth and bright like a mirror, and it is easy to paint and print.
Advantages
In addition to thin gauge, the tinplate also boasts mechanical properties with a wide range from 230 to 620MPa. Hence, it suits the needs in multiple forming processes and various industries.
The tinplate is available in varied surface finishes, with three different levels of roughness.
Like other steel, tinplate is easy for recycling in line with environmental protection requirements.
Also, with high opacity, and excellent sealing property, tinplate provides ideal protection for food, beverage, and other substances when made into packaging containers.

The hardness is the average value of 2 samples, allowing 1 of them to exceed the specified allowable range by 1 unit. |
|||||
a The yield strength is a reference value determined as required. b Yield strength is the average value of the two samples. The sample is P5 in GB/T 228, and the direction of the sample is transverse. c Due to the thickness thinning effect, the elongation is too low and the yield strength cannot be measured. In this case, the yield strength is replaced by the tensile strength. d For the tensile test, the width of the parallel part of the sample is (12.5±1) mm, and the standard distance L0=50mm. Before the test. The sample should be artificially aged for 20min at 200℃. |

Bending, rolling
Thanks to its high level of ductility (for steel with low mechanical properties) and near-isotropic properties, tinplate can withstand severe bending or rolling.
Expansion, embossing, beading
Tinplate is well suited to mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic expansion. Its expansion capacity by pneumatic or hydraulic means can be up to 30%.
5. Usage Precautions for ETP
Properties
A. Tinplate is characterized by its thin gauge, which is between 0.13mm and 0.49mm.
B. Tinning of the tinplate is achieved in a continuous electrolytic process.
Market status and prospect analysis of electroplated tin plate at home and abroad
As the main consumption area of electroplated tin plate cans, whether as food (fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, etc.), beverages (alcoholic beverages, such as beer, etc., non-alcoholic beverages, such as carbonated beverages, fruit juices, coffee, etc.), Or as a packaging material for other items (drugs, oils, paints, cosmetics, sprays, etc.), with its advantages of keeping fresh for a long time, not easy to pollute, easy to circulate, low cost, easy to recycle, etc., it has been developing steadily for more than two hundred years, showing good prospects for development.
Oil Tin Can
As is known, light can cause and accelerate oil oxidation, which reduces nutrition value of oil by destroying its vitamin A and D, and even more seriously, by generating harmful substances. And, oxygen in the air can also lead to food oil oxidation, resulting in decreased protein biomass and damaged vitamins. To avoid this, we have developed tinplate that has high opacity and excellent airtight seal, and can provide better protection for the contained oil, food, beverage, and so on. Hence, the oil tin can is ideal for packing lipids.
To provide the highest quality oil tinplate can, we implement rigid inspection on the whole process from material procurement to the final product delivery. In addition to strict monitoring on working procedures such as acid washing, reciprocal rolling, and degreasing, etc., our specialized personnel check our products through mechanical property tester and coating tester to ensure superior performance of our oil tin can. As a result, our oil tin can features strong corrosion resistance, high formability and easy welding, and you can thus feel secure in choosing our products.
