1. Introduction
1. What is tinplate
• Tinned steel sheet referred to as tinplate, commonly known as tinplate, is a product made of tinning on a thin mild steel plate. The tin plate produced by the hot dip process is called the hot dip tin plate, and the tin plate produced by the electroplating process is called the electroplated tin plate.
• Because about 98~99.8% of the weight of the tin plate is steel, it is a coated steel variety that belongs to metallurgical products.
• 2, the use of tinplate
• Modern industrial tinplate is usually a cold-rolled, low carbon sheet coated with commercial pure tin on both sides, which combines the strength and formability of steel with the corrosion resistance, weldability and appearance of tin. Tinplate is widely used in the food industry and a variety of containers, stamped products, packaging materials for non-food industry, such as food cans, spray cans, bottle caps, gas containing beverage cans, packaging materials and non-packaging materials (home appliances, toys, stationery, engineering).

A. Tinplate is characterized by its thin gauge, which is between 0.13mm and 0.49mm.
B. Tinning of the tinplate is achieved in a continuous electrolytic process.
In addition to thin gauge, the tinplate also boasts mechanical properties with a wide range from 230 to 620MPa. Hence, it suits the needs in multiple forming processes and various industries.
The tinplate is available in varied surface finishes, with three different levels of roughness.
Like other steel, tinplate is easy for recycling in line with environmental protection requirements.
Also, with high opacity, and excellent sealing property, tinplate provides ideal protection for food, beverage, and other substances when made into packaging containers.

4. Product Standard
ETP orders are placed with Baosteel in accordance with Q/BQB 450-2009 standard which uses in a non-equivalent to JIS G 3303:2008, DIN EN 10202:2001, EN 10203 standards.
TFS orders are placed with Baosteel in accordance with Q/BQB 455-2009 standard which uses in a non-equivalent to JIS G 3315:2008, DIN EN 10202:2001, EN 10203 standards.
