Aluzinc steel coil, also known as aluminium-zinc coated steel, is a type of steel product that features a coating made from an aluminium-zinc alloy. This coating typically consists of 55% aluminium, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon. The combination of these metals in the coating provides the steel with enhanced properties, making it suitable for various industrial and construction applications.
- Coating: Aluzinc steel coil is coated with an alloy composed of approximately 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon.
- Appearance: This composition gives Aluzinc steel a distinctive, spangled silver appearance.
- Properties: The aluminum in the coating provides enhanced barrier protection, while zinc offers sacrificial protection, combining the benefits of both metals.
- Superior Resistance: The aluminum content significantly improves the corrosion resistance, especially in environments exposed to high humidity or corrosive elements.
- Longevity: The combination of aluminum and zinc provides up to four times more corrosion resistance compared to galvanized steel.
- High Temperature Tolerance: Aluzinc steel can withstand higher temperatures, making it ideal for applications involving heat, such as roofing in hot climates.
- Enhanced Aesthetics: The spangled silver appearance of Aluzinc steel is often preferred for architectural applications due to its modern look.
Marine and Coastal Areas
- Saltwater Exposure: Aluzinc steel's superior corrosion resistance makes it ideal for structures near the sea or in marine environments where salt spray and humidity are prevalent.
- Chemical Exposure: Industrial environments that release corrosive chemicals benefit from the enhanced protective qualities of Aluzinc steel, ensuring longer life and reduced maintenance.
- Moisture Resistance: In regions with high humidity and frequent rainfall, Aluzinc steel offers better protection against rust and corrosion, making it suitable for roofing, cladding, and other exposed applications.
- Heat Resistance: For applications involving high temperatures, such as industrial roofs or heat exchangers, Aluzinc steel maintains its structural integrity and appearance better than galvanized steel.
Roofing and Cladding:
- Residential Buildings: Aluzinc steel coils are extensively used in roofing and cladding for residential homes due to their long-lasting protection against the elements and attractive finish.
- Commercial Buildings: In commercial settings, they provide robust and aesthetically pleasing solutions for exterior walls and roofs, contributing to both durability and architectural design.
Architectural Panels:
- Facades: The material is used in creating modern facades for buildings, offering a sleek, metallic look that enhances the visual appeal of structures.
- Interior Design: Aluzinc steel is also used for interior panels in industrial and commercial spaces, providing a durable and stylish finish.
Structural Components:
- Framing: Aluzinc steel is used in the structural framework of buildings due to its high strength and resistance to rust and corrosion, ensuring longevity and structural integrity.
