What is galvanizing?
Galvanizing is a manufacturing process that involves applying a zinc coating to steel to prevent it from rusting. The galvanized coating acts as a protection for the base metal. It does this by acting as a barrier to various corrosive elements. Thus, it offers a sacrificial nature that can provide high quality and long lasting steel products.
Galvanized steel is one of the popular grades of steel. This is due to its increased strength, extended durability and formability. Corrosion resistant properties make it significantly more useful.

The galvanized coating prevents corrosive substances (e.g. acids) from reaching the base metal.
When the coating is scratched, zinc is more easily sacrificed to the anode than base metals. Therefore, it provides complete protection against rust.

According to the European Standard EN 10346:2015, the dimensions of hot-dip galvanized zinc spangle can be divided into normal spangle and minimized spangle.
The normal spangle is the size and shape of the zinc grains formed after normal solidification of the zinc solution, while the spangle without zinc (also known as the minimized spangle) is the size and shape of the zinc grains obtained by special control of the zinc solidification process. If the user wishes to specify the size of the zinc flower, this should be negotiated at the time of ordering.
There are many factors that affect the size of the zinc flower. When the composition of the zinc liquid has the conditions for the formation of the zinc flower, the following factors have an effect on the size of the zinc flower:
(1) Raw material: the thicker the raw steel plate, the smaller the surface roughness, the larger the zinc flower.
(2) Cooling speed: the faster the cooling speed, the shorter the crystal growth time, the smaller the zinc flower.
